Some wonderful news from DARTS!
Our CEO and Executive Producer, Lena Nahlous, has been named the 2026 Business in Colour Exemplar Award winner.
The Exemplar Award recognises people who draw on their race, ethnicity and cultural background as a strength and help create opportunities for others.
For more than two decades, Lena has worked across the arts and cultural sectors to challenge racism and exclusion, create opportunities for culturally and racially marginalised artists and creative workers, and advocate for greater racial equity in who participates, who leads and who makes decisions.
It’s so important to take time to celebrate and recognise the work we do, especially when so much of it involves confronting racism, inequity and exclusion. And this work is never done alone. It’s always collective, and I’m so grateful to the Board and team at Diversity Arts Australia, and to our many partners and collaborators who work alongside us. Thank you to the MindTribes Foundation and the Business in Colour Awards for recognising this work, and congratulations to all of the 2026 finalists and award winners.
We’re very proud to see Lena and the work she has led recognised in this way.
