Intersectionality recognises that people may experience multiple and overlapping barriers or forms of discrimination based on different aspects of their identity, and that these can interact to deepen inequity. For example, a d/Deaf or Disabled person may also experience racism, sexism, homophobia, ageism or discrimination related to culture, language or religion.
