Saleh Saqqaf is a Sydney-based journalist, broadcaster and practicing artist for three decades. Saleh’s theatrical work includes The Serpent’s Teeth, The Kings Cross Theatre (2018), Remote Control, UTP (2014), Out & Away (2013) and Coffee, Tea & 25 cigarettes, Arab Theatre Studio (2016), Howards Katz, Sydney Theatre Company (2003), Citizen X, Sidetrack Theatre (2002), The Prophet (1999) , Writing With The Hip (1996) , Al Qamareya, Taqa Theatre (1991), Mask On A Blind Face (1996) and The Man Who Lost His Shadow, Veto Theatre (1993).
Saleh has extensive experience in community arts engagement and project management, particularly in community education and development. His work is often developed as a spoken and performative message-based, educational resource around a new emerging community settlement. As a journalist and broadcaster, Saleh has worked with SBS Australia, the Arabic language program from 2002-2016, and he was the first correspondent of Al-Jazeera Satellite Channel in Australia from 2002-2011. Saleh has worked as a voice over for promotional and continuity announcements and behind the scenes segments with Walt Disney Television, the Middle East Channel – Singapore 1997-2001.
