Teik-Kim Pok

Malaysian-born and Singapore-bred, Teik-Kim Pok is a performance artist, producer and educator, whose work has been presented at Sydney Festival, Underbelly, Belvoir and Next Wave, and collaborated with companies as Branch Nebula, Urban Theatre Projects, Milkcrate and Performance Space. On screen, he was the lead in Platon Theodoris’ acclaimed feature Alvin’s Harmonious World of Opposites, which was awarded Directors’ Choice at the Sydney Underground Film Festival and officially selected for Slamdance.

He delivered Playwriting Australia’s development strategy of new dramatic writing from underrepresented communities. Most notably, he managed Lotus, a project partnership with Contemporary Asian-Australian Performance, helping to propel new Asian-Australian playwriting voices onto Australian stages. Teik-Kim was theatre and dance contributor with RealTime Arts and sub-editor with Delving into Dance, a blog for independent Australia choreographers. He continues advocating for greater inclusion and accessible participatory opportunities in culture, both as an independent practitioner and in local government.
