Diversity Arts Australia (DARTS) is the national organisation championing cultural equity in the arts. On Giving Day 23 October 2025, we are asking: What would the arts look like without Diversity Arts Australia? We know the answer: fewer opportunities for culturally and linguistically diverse artists, weaker pathways to leadership, and the loss of vital advocacy campaigns that push for systemic change. This campaign will raise funds to expand two nationally recognised programs:
-> Our Anti-Racism in the Arts campaign, nominated for a national design award.
-> Our Shifting the Balance leadership program, building equitable pathways for diverse leadership.
Your donation ensures the arts sector reflects the real continent — rich in culture, stories, and perspectives.
Our cultural sector is not representative of its people. Only a small percentage of leadership positions are held by people from culturally diverse backgrounds, despite making up almost half of the population. Many artists face systemic barriers that limit their ability to thrive. DARTS exists to change this. Through research, advocacy, training, and creative programs, we create space for under-represented voices and empower diverse creatives to take their place in shaping this continent’s cultural future. Without Diversity Arts Australia, there is no national body dedicated to this work.
