PAC Australia’s annual national networking and development event, the Australian Performing Arts Exchange (APAX) is the most significant annual gathering of performing arts professionals in Australia. APAX provides the connections, professional development and opportunities that deliver the performing arts across the country.

Imagine Australia: documenting leading practice in diversity, belonging and inclusion

The Imagine Australia Project showcases some of Australia’s best work in advancing cultural diversity and racial equity in the arts. Twenty-one case studies were selected from a public and industry-wide call out, followed by a selection process with an expert panel. These case studies span across different states and territories, and cover a broad range of art forms, mediums and creative industries.

In this guided session, what can we learn from these examples of leading practice about strategic and practical interventions in areas such as cultural safety, audience development, collaboration and leadership and governance?

Guest speakers:

  • Dr Alexia Derbas, Research and Policy Manager, Diversity Arts Australia
  • Colin Ho, Creative Equity Toolkit Coordinator, Diversity Arts Australia

Imagine is managed by Diversity Arts Australia (DARTS), funded via the Australia Council’s Re-Imagine project and supported by Creative Equity Toolkit partner, British Council Australia.

Venue: NIDA, 215 Anzac Parade, Kensington NSW 2033
